Japan and the US are interested in Central Asian technology
Attracting foreign investors is never easy. For companies based in Central Asia, it can be even more difficult because our developments are not well known in the global market.
Every company has questions: how to reach the right people, how to present the product, and what questions to prepare for. Large public events come to the rescue. Recently, the Central Asian Tech Forum was held in Bishkek, where delegations from Japan and the United States were present. They represented the investment interests of our region.
The Verigram team presented its solutions to the Japanese delegation headed by representatives of JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization). We talked about the possibilities of online identification in different countries, ways to combat new types of fraud, and the development of technology in general. The experts emphasized that our solution meets international standards and expressed interest in the capabilities of the technical team.
One of the formats of the event is short pitches to the experts. Things to consider when preparing for a pitch include
- financial performance;
- growth potential;
- scalability of the solution;
- the professional skills of the founders.
Of course, it is important to talk about the product itself. In general, Japanese and American investors see potential in Central Asia but are cautious. They are ready to engage in dialogue with local companies and explore opportunities. Our company will also continue the dialog with Japanese colleagues.
Verigram technologies are already well-known in the local market. We were talking with our colleagues and found out that the specifics of the problems are similar in many respects. This also applies to specific cases of fraud protection and the success of online verification procedures for honest users.
It was an amazing experience, and we highly recommend participating in similar events to any company that wants to expand its reach and attract foreign investment. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the organizers of the forum. Through KSSDA, High-Tech Park of the Kyrgyz Republic, Astana Hub, and IT Park of Uzbekistan, such events allow IT companies and start-ups to expand their network and establish new partnerships.
